EICKEMEYER® Veterinary Equipment celebrates its 60th anniversary in October 2021. Company founder Walter Eickemeyer dared to take the plunge into self-employment in 1961 with the visionary idea of aligning medical technology with the needs of veterinarians for the first time. He was right to trust his instincts, and this can be shown by the fact that the family company, now in its 4th generation, has always remained loyal to veterinary medicine.
Gisela Sprung-Eickemeyer took over the company with her husband Wolfgang Sprung in 1978 from her father Walter Eickemeyer, who unfortunately died much too early in the same year. Alexander Sprung joined the family business in 1996 after completing his studies and has been Managing Director since 2007. Christoph Sprung set up the EICKEMEYER® branch the UK in 2007 and has been responsible for sales and marketing at the headquarters in Tuttlingen, Germany since 2018. With Philipp Sprung completing his second year of apprenticeship at EICKEMEYER® this summer, the fourth generation has moved into the family company.
Extensive interactions with so many customers over the years has resulted in a complete range of innovative products and services that support veterinarians in their daily practice. With a total of 8 country offices and a global dealer network, quality products from EICKEMEYER® are available all over the world. True to the company motto "We inspire vets to improve the life of animals", EICKEMEYER® would like to continue improving the welfare of animals in the long term with innovative offers and, very importantly, advanced training.
As early as the mid-1980s, EICKEMEYER® was the first private company to recognize that professional training is a must for veterinarians to be successful and to be able to offer patients the best treatment. Since the first seminar on triple pelvic osteotomy in 1985, almost 40,000 participants have attended the popular EICKEMEYER® seminars, which are still unparalleled in terms of practical relevance. Since 2019, our well-attended training courses have not only been offered at the headquarters in Tuttlingen, but also in other modern training centres near Frankfurt am Main and Vojens, Denmark.
On the company's 60th anniversary, it is particularly important to the family to thank their long-term customers, employees, suppliers and companions for their continued trust and loyalty – thank you very much!
